It Finally Snowed in Beijing... Kinda

The capital received its first official snowfall of the season on Sunday, but we must say it was less than impressive. We wouldn't be surprised if most of you didn't even notice. Some of us are wondering if the three flakes we saw even qualify as real snowfall. But according to the experts, they do.

Snow fell in the area from Sunday evening until Monday morning. But the weather was less about the white fluffy stuff and more about the chilly temps.

Beijing is currently in the midst of a cold snap, so expect temperatures to plunge as low as -13C this week. Highs will hover around the -2C to -3C mark until Friday. Things should start warming up (at least a little bit) starting Saturday.

Beijingers have been waiting a long time for the season's first snowfall. The city typically receives its first snow around November 29. Fingers crossed that the next snowfall (if it actually comes!) yields more picturesque results...
